Ellison Reef bookmark
The Ellison Reef bookmark features original hand-drawn artwork by underwater artist Roger Swainston.
This bookmark is perfect for the avid reader with an appreciation for art and a love of Australia’s coral reefs.
The intricate graphite artwork by Roger was drawn underwater on-site at Ellison Reef and later refined in the artist's studio. Roger is an Australian painter, naturalist and zoologist, and one of the most recognised artists of the underwater world.
Ellison Reef is a vibrant reef off the coast of Mission Beach in Queensland. In 1967, community-led citizen scientists defeated a mining proposal and ignited the push to stop mining and oil drilling across the reef and led to the creation of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Act in 1975. Ellison Reef became known as the Reef that saved all Reefs.
Ellison Reef bookmarks are thoughtfully produced and printed in Australia by Notely on FSC-certified paper made from 100% post-consumer waste, using no virgin tree fibres. The fibre source has been independently certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. Notely replant one tree with every order and replant 2sqm of native rainforest with every third order.
